Welcome, neighbor!
Erin Presbyterian Church is located right next door to Abridged Beer Co. on Lockett Road in Bearden. Besides being neighbors, we have a lot in common!
Did you know …
- Like Abridged, Erin Presbyterian Church offers a family friendly environment and strives to build community in our neighborhood (minus the beer ;). However, we do offer a great meal on Wednesday nights! To learn more about children’s programming and fellowship opportunities, click here.
- The buildings that house Erin Presbyterian Church and Abridged Beer Co. (a former auto garage) were likely built around the same time in the 1950s. While Erin has been part of the Bearden landscape since 1877, the Lockett Road location was built in 1955.
- The brewers at Abridged aren’t the only crafty ones on the block! Erin’s Pastor John Stuart (a native of Scotland who began his ministry at Erin in 1995) is also a writer and artist. Learn more about his writing and artworks here.
Believe it or not, Presbyterians and beer share some history! Martin Luther not only spurred the Protestant Reformation, but also a change in the way beer was made, shifting from brewing techniques controlled by the Catholic Church to untaxed hops. So, in a way, Martin Luther is responsible for the beer we enjoy today!
While you can enjoy hanging out at Abridged almost every day of the week, they are closed on Sundays … but Erin is open!
Join us for Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. and Worship at 11 a.m. every Sunday.
On Wednesday evenings September-May, join us for dinner at 5:45 p.m.
All are welcome…we hope to see you soon!
