The readings bring challenge and promise – Ezekiel promises restoration, after long disobedience led to disaster for God’s people. Their newfound energy will display God’s glory. The Psalmist knows God doesn’t need our sacrifices, especially when they are not accompanied by a devoted heart. Paul rejoices in the devotion of the church at Ephesus and prays that they may truly know the majesty of Christ. Jesus both reassures his disciples, “Do not be afraid, little flock,” and calls them to radical commitment to the kingdom. At this new moment in Erin’s life, where are you hearing God’s challenge and promise?
