Dec 04 – Reading: 1 Corinthians 1:3-9
1 Corinthians 1:9 God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. (NIV)
It is of great comfort to me that God is faithful and not capricious. His love for the world is still evident and is revealed to us through other people. Acts of grace and compassion, kindness and generosity are happening all around us; they hardly ever make the headline news, mostly because genuine grace-filled people never blow their own trumpets or draw attention to what they give and do. I like to think that those gracious acts are the real images of God which He has given us through our DNA, so just as God remains faithful to the world, we may keep faith with Him through loving, supporting, and helping one another.
As the Christmas countdown continues, we will come across opportunities to help other folks and contribute to reputable charitable organizations. Our faith will be displayed to God through all that we generously give and cheerfully support. 😊
Q: Since God is faithful to me through the blessings that He gives, how can I be faithful to God through what I give?
Prayer: Lord Jesus, You were and are God’s greatest gift to the world. You bring faith, hope, and love into our lives in many ways. Help us to spread this gift and share Your blessings with others. In Your Holy Name, we pray. Amen.
