This week offers a “variety pack” of themes. Elisha carries on the healing ministry he inherited, and a foreign official experiences Yahweh’s power. The psalmist reminds us, “Weeping may linger for a night, but joy comes with the morning.” Paul reminds the Galatians to work and support one another, living into new creation. And Jesus sends out disciples, giving them both power and instructions about how to live among strangers. What in this hodge-podge of passages speaks to you, especially in this holiday week? How might we live with neighbors, support one another, and witness to Christ in our world?
