The culture may have moved on from Christmas, but we are still deep in the Christmas Story. This week we celebrate Epiphany, the arrival of the Magi from the east to worship the newborn king. It’s not just a pretty part of the story, but a demonstration of the conviction that Christ came for all people, not just those in the neighborhood. Thus, Paul speaks of being an apostle to the Gentiles, and we read Isaiah’s promise to bring light to all nations.
