This week we transition to Lent, the season we focus on Christ’s great gift of his life, and our deep need of his grace. These readings all couple promise with demand. As Christians, we believe that God’s grace comes first. We do not earn God’s favor, and we are ever troubled by sin, but we are offered promises and signs that God’s kingdom has come near, and we are invited to enter it. What signs of promise do you experience, in your walk of faith? How do you respond to them?
