Look closely at the front of the sanctuary next Sunday; it’s the only time our red banner is in the highest position. We wear red next week because it’s Pentecost, both the celebration of the gift of the law to Israel (Pentecost, like the Pentateuch, or five books) and the celebration of God’s presence among us as the Holy Spirit. These texts focus on the work of the Spirit of God, to help us recognize God in the world, to advocate for us, and to continue Christ’s work. Where do you see the Spirit moving in you?
