We begin Lent this week, and devotions will be available to focus our meditations on each day. But reading lectionary texts will help us prepare for worship. The Gospel brings us back to the start of Jesus’ ministry, when he goes into the wilderness, a rich time to sort through what he will stand for and whom he will trust. In the Wilderness, the Israelites renewed their covenant and set offerings to remember God’s goodness. Paul reminds his readers of God’s grace in Christ for all who trust in him. Thanks be to God!
