Sunday is Trinity Sunday, the third in a trinity of Sundays celebrating the mystery and revelation of God. In mid-May we marked Jesus’ ascension to reign with God. At Pentecost we celebrated the Holy Spirit’s arrival. Finally, we focus on the Trinity. This ancient theology articulates how God is revealed in creation, in Christ, and through the Spirit. Early Christians wanted to express how God is One: the God who creates is God in Jesus and is the Spirit moving among us. Words are inadequate; ultimately we simply bow in praise. How do you see these “persons” in these texts?
