Blessings

Ephesians 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. (NIV)

One of the main purposes of worship is to praise God for the undeserved blessings we receive in our lives. Being grateful for being alive, forgiven, and even healed are wonderful gifts from God which we sometimes take for granted. This is why we are invited to gather each week to offer our thanks as a faith community. Together, our praise is amplified and our worship of God is magnified which helps us to reconnect our spirits to God and builds up our fellowship with one another.

This coming Sunday, 10 November, we will also give thanks to God for our Veterans, who have served our nation in peacetime and war to both fight for and preserve freedom in many areas of the world. Their service has been exemplary and we are grateful for their acceptance of the duty that was placed on them. The blessings of liberty that we cherish today have been sustained by those who served in our military. We do not take them for granted either, but are thankful for what they and their families have given to all of us.

So, come along and join us for worship on Sunday to praise God for His blessings through Christ and to recognize those who have served our great nation.

Prayer: Lord God, we thank You for Jesus who laid down His Life so that we could be forgiven, accepted, and restored to Your gracious and eternal love. We are also grateful for those who have served our country in our military. May we honor all of these wonderful gifts of freedom and faith that we experience today. In Your Holy Name, we humbly pray. Amen.

Action Step: Thank a veteran in your family, church, or community this weekend for the service that he or she has given to our nation.
