1 John 1:7 “But if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.” (NRSV)
This verse reminds me of a song I used to sing with a group of Christian friends called ‘Walking in the Light.” It’s a cheerful reminder of the goodness of God and the gracious sacrifice that Christ made on our behalf. To walk in God’s light means to be afraid of nothing; to be cleansed of our sins means we have been fully restored to God. These are both beautiful blessings that believers can experience every day, no matter who they are, where they are, or what they’ve done.
Application: Think about the blessings of love and acceptance that God has given to you. Walk in His light today and give thanks for Christ’s everlasting forgiveness.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, lead us with God’s light and restore us to His favor with Your love. In Your Holy Name, we cheerfully ask and humbly pray. Amen.
