Did you know that Christmas is a season of twelve days and not just a one-day event?

Today, Dec 28, is the fourth day of Christmas, which means you can continue to celebrate Christmastide.

I’ve asked our amazing church staff to share their favorite Christmas carol, hymn, or song during this time. Today, April Cyr, our Administrator, shares her thoughts on her favorite song:

O Holy Night

This hymn wraps me up in the greatness and majesty of our Almighty God from the beginning.

In the first two verses, I can smell the grass in the fields with the shepherds as they watch the sky and the heavenly host.  In my mind’s eye, I behold a manger scene and feel my heart renewed with awe at Jesus’ birth.

With the memory of my own conversion, after realizing who my Savior is, I can deeply relate to the verse that speaks of how the “Soul felt its worth”, and I am reminded that every sin is covered by what Jesus has done and I am FORGIVEN.

The last part of the song is what literally brings me to my knees in worship of my Lord.

“Truly He taught us to love one another | His law is love, and His gospel is peace. | Chains He shall break, for the slave is our brother | And in His name all oppression shall cease.”

And I am on the floor in tears and praise.

Christ is the Lord!

And ever, ever praise we, His power and glory.

Peace and Joy, April
